God said:

Let no one deceive you in any way. and that’s how He meant them.

I tend to quite disagree. What you quoted comes from the New American Bible ca.1970. It is not the Word of God as God gave it in Hebrew and Greek. It is a Catholic revision that is not worth the paper it is printed on. And it is not how He meant it to read.
