"Luis Palua Tampa Festival"

This past weekend the Luis Palau evangelistic organization held a Christian music Festival in Tampa Florida at the Raymond Stadium. On Saturday March 3rd there were about 40,000 people who attended, the weather was cold and rainy. I worked in one of the evangelism outreach tents along with a team of Evangelists from Seattle, Washington. We handed out salvation tracts and Bibles. We had about 100 salvations on Saturday at our EV tent. There were also several child evangelism tents who also had several hundred salvations, as well as the Living It sports area- they also had several hundred salvations recorded

It had been raining all day on Saturday, but around 7:30 pm when Luis Palua gave the evening message and altar call, an amazing event happened. The rain stopped at the exact moment Luis got up to give the message and gospel invitation. It stopped raining untill after the gospel invitation was given and we had finished praying with the thousands who accepted Jesus. Then when the music started up again, it started raining again. It was a weather miracle from the hand of God himself

On Sunday March 4th, about 100,000 people attended the Festival, the weather had improved , it was now sunny and about 70 degrees. The Evangelism tent i worked in had about 170 salvations on Sunday. We did the 2 question "are you going to heaven" test. It was quite popular, we had several lines forming at the prayer tent through out the day for people just waiting to take the test to find out if they are going to heaven. Then we would explain the gospel to them and lead them in a salvation prayer. Commitment cards were filled out so churches in the Tampa area could follow-up with those people who had committed their lives to Jesus Christ during the Festival

All together, for both Festival days, about 4,000 people accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. The Palua management said this was one of their most effective North American Festivals they have ever held, both for the number of salvation commitments and for the number of people who attended,  praise the Lord !!!
