"Thou shalt not slander,
a clever trap many of us fall into"
Many of us read quite a bit. We take in all sorts
information. It seems many of us Christians fall into a trap of studying
to such a degree that we ignore the witnessing and the reaching out to
the neighbors thing. This tends to make us dry, which then leads to certain
behaviors that are really not the fruit of the spirit. From our learning
we can become isolated and suspicious of others who do not hold our opinion,
suspicion and being too judgmental follow etc.
In this situation we are susceptible to bad information,
much like gossip. We will certainly find someone who had written things
that uphold our suspicions. We read them and incorporate the things they
speak of without doing an ounce of research to see if these people are
reputable.
I have found recently that there certainly are publications
that are based on totaly dishonest information in the Christian realm.
Organizations like CRI, Christian research international, do their best
to try to dispel wrong teaching but it seems that the wicked part of us
craves these things and they continue to be put out even though confronted
with error.
If you find some christian information or exposing that
you find interesting please do a little research before you pass it on.
The Holy spirit always tries to give us a check in the spirit re these
things. You may fall into the sin of slander if you do not.
