It occurred to me when I was reading Joshua's taking of the city of Jericho,,,,wow,,,what are all of these sevens?   Then Randy reminded of the "seven years" of war after entering into the promised land.   What occurred to me, and I made a note of it,,,was that "all of those sevens",,,were meant by God, to draw attention to "sevens",,,,but mostly, His mighty power in delivering the land into the hands of the newly-arrived Israelites into their land.
I see the crossing of the Jordan, both for the Jews, and for us,,,as the entering in of our respective inheritances, at the end of the age.   And, for the Jews,,,who will then go on to fight for their inheritance, in the tribulation years,,,,,that the battle at Jericho was a "picture", of what lay ahead for them..........seven priests,,,,seven trumpets,,,,,seven days,,,,,,,seven times in one day, etc...............there is another place in the Bible that shows forth such an abundance of "sevens",,,and that is the book of Revelation,,,,,,,,,,,which is seven seals, seven trumpets, seven bowls,,,etc., etc.    The taking of Jerico, to Israel at the time,,,was a picture of their coming success in the following wars, and therefore the confidence they could carry with them into those years of wars.   Likewise,,,,,,God will show Israel of the tribulation years,,,,,that same miraculous series of events, which will give them confidence to fight for their land.........and endure unto the end......
