Israeli Election Debacle"People say peace, peace when there is no peace"( Jeremiah 6:14).
The victory of Olmert and Kadima and all those who believe that they can give
away the land (90% of the West Bank and part of Jerusalem) that God gave to
them (Genesis 17:7-8) to the descendants of Ishmael will not bring peace to
the region. The Bible tells us that Jerusalem will be a cup that causes
reeling (Zechariah 12:2) and will become a heavy stone (Zechariah 12:3) and
that "all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it" (Zechariah
12:3). Thankfully," He who keeps Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps" (Psalm
121). God is not yet through with Israel in spite of her unbelief. God said
that the "offspring of Israel will cease to be a nation when the fixed order
of the sun, the moon and the stars depart." (Jeremiah 31:35-37).
One day soon, He will "pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants
of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplication so that they will look
on Me whom they have pierced and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an
only son and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a
first born." Zechariah 12:10 and then "all Israel will be saved" (Romans
11:26).
No matter how idiotic man acts, all things unfold according to the will of God
because "God cannot lie and His promises are faithful (Hebrews 10:23). Sure
the Israelis will bring death and destruction upon themselves because of their
ignoring of the word of God, "those who sow to the wind will reap the
whirlwind" (Hosea 8:17), but God is still in control. His promises are
irrevocable. He cannot lie. Jesus will return to the Mount of Olives
(Zechariah 14:4) and rule and reign from the rebuilt temple (2Thess.2:4) for
1000 years no matter what Olmert, or Bush, or Putin, or the Pope or the EU or
anyone else says.
Look up for your redemption draws near (Luke 21:28).
