Marie, as always I enjoyed reading your post but didn't get to Monday's until today - Thursday. Imagine my surprise to find today's (March 9) "Our Daily Bread' devotional, 'The Bible in a Year' Old Testament reading, included Deuteronomy 8 - the very part referenced in your article. Even more surprising is that the New Testament reading (Mark 11: vv19-33) also referenced the fig tree - though not the incident you mentioned from Matthew. Coincidence perhaps but this type of fortuitous pairing seems to be becoming a frequent occurrence in my life lately. They've been far too many to be mere 'coincidence'. I'm wondering if any other Doves have noticed this phenomenon. I treasure it as reassurance from our Lord and Saviour that He is watching over us as we wait.
