"To Garry Boggs - re Mark 16:18"

To Garry Boggs - re: Mark 16:18o:p>

“ They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing. It shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

Years ago when I was raising my little ones I read in the News paper about the mercury poisoning in the tuna and fish.  I read about the beef and chicken and the growth hormones etc they were feeding them. I read about the soil and how robbed it was of nutrients plus all the pesticides they sprayed on the plants to keep fungus and insects away.   (No healthy insect would eat that vegetation.)

I cried to the Lord and asked what am I going to feed my children to keep them healthy?

He showed me Mark 16:18.   I then knew that this scripture was for today.  Every time I prepare food for the dinner table or eat in a restaurant, I pray this scripture,   “….and if they drink (eat) any deadly thing it shall not hurt them.”

When my children got sick, we prayed  “…and they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”   (I usually ask my husband to say that prayer as he is the head of this household.) If  further help was needed we did call the doctor and sometime took the medications as God gave us wisdom    He also gave us doctors and medications but again we prayed the first part of the scripture  “….and if they drink (eat) any deadly thing it shall not hurt them.”   We asked that the medication only do what it is supposed to do to kill the infection but no more. (We also prayed that prayer when the children were required by law to have vaccinations for school.)

People have remarked how healthy my children are but I knew it was the Lord and I give Him and that scripture that we can claim for ourselves all the credit.

In Jesus,
