1Th 5:9 'For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,"
 
The word SALVATION is Strongs 4991 and means to RESUE or SAVE.
 
Since we are already 'saved' it must mean 'rescue'.
 
In other words "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to RESUE us by our Lord Jesus Christ,
