"The Chosen Bride (Part 4)"
When individual spirit-filled
members of the Bride come together, they become one with the very body
of Christ. Like those on Pentecost, they have all drank of the same
Spirit as He was poured upon them. Just as the natural body is fit
together with different members and functions - eyes, ears, hands, etc.,
so is the body of this Bridal company a body of particular members (1 Cor.
12-14). In contrast to the body of flesh, "God hath tempered" this
body together according to spiritual gifts and ministries.
The corporate Bride can only function
as God wills when each member is Spirit-filled and invested with different
spiritual gifts and administrations. The Holy Spirit divides "to
every man severally as He will" (1 Cor. 12:11). For to one is given
by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge...to
another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another the discerning
of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation
of tongues" (1 Cor. 12:18-10). "And God hath set some in the church, first
apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles,
then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues"(1 Cor.
12:28).
Filled with the Holy Spirit, the Chosen
Bride sparkles with supernatural gifts. She lives in Jesus, the Word,
and "in Him moves and has her being" (Acts 17:28). With Jesus' compassion
she lays hands on the sick and they recover, because it is the Bride's
commission to take the Gospel forward "not in word only but also in power,
and in the Holy Ghost" (1 Thess. 1:5).
Look for the chosen Bride in fellowships
where the Word of God is being confirmed by signs, wonders and miracles.
You will not find her with those "having a form of godliness, but denying
the power thereof" (2 Tim 3:5).
In Christ,
