Israeli Ambassador Found Shot in Ethiopia-OfficialsMarch 29th, 2005
World - ReutersJERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel's ambassador to Ethiopia was found shot and wounded at his Addis Ababa home but the Israeli Foreign Ministry said it was not believed to be a "terrorist incident."
An Israeli security source said the shooting Tuesday, which left Ambassador Doron Grossman in critical condition, "appeared to have a personal background."
Israeli government sources said a security guard found Grossman in his home with the envoy's gun nearby.
"Apparently we are not speaking about a terrorist incident," a Foreign Ministry spokesman said. "A professional team ... is heading to Ethiopia to check the circumstances of the event."
