Israel Launches PR Campaign Against Syria, PA Following Terror Attack

Jerusalem (CNSNews.com) - Islamic Jihad leaders in Damascus have claimed responsibility for a weekend suicide attack that killed five Israelis outside a Tel Aviv nightclub, but the Israeli government insists the Syrian government is responsible, too, because it allows the terrorists to operate in its capital.

And Israel isn't letting the Palestinian Authority off the hook, either.

"The terrorist attack was perpetrated by members of Islamic Jihad. The orders came from Islamic Jihad elements in Syria," Sharon told his cabinet on Sunday.

About a dozen Palestinian terror groups are headquartered in Damascus, but Syria insists they are merely public relations offices for the organizations.

Moreover, Sharon said that although Israel could prove that orders for the attack originated in Syria, that did not absolve the Palestinian Authority of responsibility.
