RE: "The Bible's Books are Sixty Six"
I enjoyed the poem presented by Frederick Wenz concerning the sixty six books of the Bible. It reminded me of a book I read over 10 years ago titled: Restoring the Original Bible, by Dr. Martin. Being fully aware of the precision of our Father with regards to the scriptures, it always bothered me that the Bible would contain sixty six books. Sixty-six is out of "character" of the Creator of the universe. This book demonstrates that there are really only 49 books to the Bible. (7 x7). Now don't get upset, the poem will still work.
Reportedly, "books" did not appear until late in the first century. The Old Testament was written on 22 scrolls. Scroll's are written on both sides, and they may contain more than one "book." It was divided into three sections; the Law, Prophets, and the Psalms. Its centerpiece/foundation was the five books of the Torah.
The New Testament contains 27 books (or letters). It is divided into three sections; the Gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and the Acts of the Holy Spirit), the epistals (letters), and the Revelation. Its centerpiece/foundation are the five books of the Gospel.
When you look at the entire Bible, you have the five books of the Gospel as its centerpiece, with 22 scroll's preceding, and 22 books following. Now, that looks more like the Father!
Shalom, John Clark
