Hi John and Doves:
I really appreciate this website.  Its helped me in a lot of ways.  I'd just like to say something about satanic spirits inhabiting things and places.  Ghoti, your fear is well founded and not stupid, I know this is to be so.
 
My Mother passed in January 2001.  She and my Dad were believers and attended the Second Church of Christ most of their lives,  but they also were members of the Masonic Temple.  (They asked me to join many times but something always held me back. I'm sure now it was Jesus).  My sister and her husband joined the Masons at Mom and Dads request and they also joined the Mormon Church at my bother in-law's
insistence. (Yes, I've tried to explain to them many times that they belong to a cult, actually TWO cults, but no matter what evidence I present  to them they won't listen me).
 
Anyway,  I was named in Mom's Will as executor of the estate so the task of cleaning out her house fell to me and my sister.  To save hotel expenses I stayed in the house for several weeks while we cleaned out her belongings. My sister & her husband still live in our home town but I live two hundred miles away.
 
The first night I slept there, I woke up at 2:00 am with chills, goose bumps and a feeling of terror.  I immediately claimed Jesus' protection and the feeling subsided then left.  When I mentioned this to my sister the next day she said that she always felt quite comfortable while in the house and thought maybe I was imagining things.  Her close affiliation with the deception of the Mormons and Masons no doubt shielded her. I was never aware of the presence during the day while we were working together.  But when we would stop for the day and my sister left to go home I would immediately start to feel I wasn't alone in the house.
 
The second night I couldn't even get to sleep because of strong feelings of impending doom which were like a weight on top of me as I lay in bed.  Finally I got out of bed and prayed shouting out loud invoking our right as believers in Jesus to bind up any evil spirits and cast them out of our presence.  The feelings of terror immediately left and I had such a sense of peace that I was amazed at that.
 
To make a long story short, I then went around the house and prayed to Jesus to cast out every evil spirit from every room and the basement and attic.  I didn't use anointing oil as some others here have suggested, just prayer. I can tell you that you don't need to be fearful of those areas of your house where you can sense these evil presences.  Stand up and pray them out of your house and ask Jesus to put a hedge around your house so that they can never come back.  Remember that, " He who in you is greater than he who is in the World". That helped me at Mom's house.
