"(PLEASE USE THIS ONE) Terri Schiavo -- Passion Week comparison"

Dear friends:

The comparison between the Terri Schiavo saga and Jesus' Passion Week struck me this morning.

On Palm Sunday cir AD 33, Jesus rode into Jerusalem and the people clamored with excitement.

On Palm Sunday 2005, the Congress intervened on Terri's behalf, and the people of the land clamored with excitement.  The action of the Congress is even called "The Palm Sunday Law."

The days after Palm Sunday, the rulers began conspiring for Jesus' death, and Jesus was spending His final days before His death, with those He loved surrounding Him.

The days after Palm Sunday, the "rulers" (judges) conspire for Terri's death, as she may be spending her final days, with her loved ones surrounding her.

Will the latter part of the Passion Week be the same for Terri as it was for Jesus?  Will the "rulers" condemn her to die?  Will she also die the victim of evil rulers?

If she does die this week as did Jesus, could it be that her resurrection will soon follow, as with Jesus, as many believe it is so  imminent?  How fitting it would be if this innocent woman, whom the "rulers" of this world condemned, rises in resurrection power, as the world is shaken by the beginning Tribulation!

Notice the last verse of the passage below:

God presides over heaven’s court;
he pronounces judgment on the judges:
“How long will you judges hand down unjust decisions?
How long will you shower special favors on the wicked?
“Give fair judgment to the poor and the orphan;
uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute.
Rescue the poor and helpless;
deliver them from the grasp of evil people.
But these oppressors know nothing;
they are so ignorant!
And because they are in darkness,
the whole world is shaken to the core.
(Psalm 82:1-5, NLT.)
