  There are 3 very large Lutheran denominations in the United States.  The ELCA, which is the group referred to in the above link is the most liberal of the 3.

  The other 2 large US Lutheran denominations, WELS (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod) and LCMS (Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod), have for years both published statements about sexuality and ministry to those who are outside of Biblical morality.
