Just some thoughts on a temple return in Jerusalem prior to the 2nd coming. There are several different ideas here whether that will happen, Just some observations.
 
God has done some things in the past in ways that we may have thought rather strange, his thoughts are greater than ours. Now we see the Sanhedrin and some interesting articles re them. Is the Sanhedrin necessary? no, not for us Christians. Do they have a purpose? Several here like me think so. Some in the past saw no significance in Israel becoming a nation. Should be obvious though. There are some Jewish Christians but only a small part of the Jewish people have made that step. I believe God has purposefully brought them back to Israel and knowing their stubbornness of the past has a certain course of action into awakening them. Zach. 12 indicates that they all will see whom they have pierced in the last days. Looking on the large flat bland space on the temple mount I see a ripe area for a temple. It seems to me God will allow this to draw his people the Jews back and then open there eyes. The dividing of the land seems very imminent and Jerusalem under Europe or Nat! o control seems inevitable. This must happen in order for scripture to be fullfiled.
