"twin towers, twin judgements"

Recently I recalled how my son was almost kidnapped for the dregs of New York city when he was 13 back in 1992. Just prior to that I had been reading in Amos of God's judgment on those in Israel who lived in luxurious houses and spent time creating new worship songs but were really living a double life of sin. I recalled then 9-11 and the twin towers. I thought of our reaction and our anger, yet, really, how we did not dwell on what had been happening in this city prior to the attack. I was reminded by the incident of my son of how horribly callus that city had become. Imagine the grief of your child being stolen from you and you knowing that it was for the perversion of that city. At that time we visited the streets where filled with porno movies, gangs, drugs, prostitution, homosexuality, you name it, it could be found there. Not only that the mayor was rumored to be homosexual. The sexual slavery of children was ignored. If it were not for a little book called "! Sometimes God has a kids face" I would also have lost my child. The book was written by a catholic priest who had a home for children who were trapped into that evil industry. Little did I know that book would have warned me of a trap set for my son. The horror of an industry that has even many rich clients paying for such deprivation. The callousness of such wicked people. A city who ignored the plight of the Innocent.

There were many innocent people killed on 9-11. But where they all that innocent? Many of them knew of the horrible things that went on but ignored them. This is just one of the many wicked things that had gone on there, yet  many chose to live there and ignore the plight of the victims. So to was the situation of the people of Jerusalem and Israel when God sent judgment. The children had not sinned yet they suffered under the judgment sent by God on Israel. How can we profess to be innocent in New York city?. The same activity still exists today. Yet we stubbornly say never again. What an arrogant claim. It shows absolutely no fear of God.

The next time you see a video of the towers come down think of what had really transpired in that city. New York was by no means any less guilty of judgment then was Israel. We can not hide our heads in the sand when God is convicting us and warning us. Do not take your anger out on the Muslims, they did not cause us to sin. The anger must be directed to the cause of the judgment and the cause must be dealt with. If the cause of the judgment is not dealt with how can we expect an even larger strike to occur?
