Dear John,

Here is another little tidbit that the Doves (and others) might seriously think about.

Another major earthquake in Indonesia, and on the day after Easter.  How about that!  Several “Doves” have pointed out that these recent quakes occurred in a sequence that appears more than coincidental; that is, on the day after Christmas, on the day after Easter, etc.  But how many have actually sought to find a Scriptural relation to these particular quakes?

Folks, in the latter part of Psalm 104, which corresponds with the year 2004, the Psalmist wrote,

“The glory of the Lord shall endure forever:  the Lord shall rejoice in His works.  He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth:  He toucheth the hills, and they smoke,” Psalm 104:31-32.

The Psalmist then continued in verse 35, saying,

“Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more.  Bless thou the Lord, O my soul.  Praise ye the Lord.”

In the very Psalm that corresponds with the year 2004, right at the end of the Psalm, the Psalmist predicted that the Lord would look on the earth and it would “tremble.”  When the “Christmas” quake came, right at the end of the year, did the earth tremble?  Well?  And the Psalmist added that the Lord would touch the hills, and they would “smoke.”  Didn’t we [the public] receive reports the very next day of several volcanoes erupting in various parts of the world, including Mt. St. Helens?

Then in Psalm 105, which corresponds with 2005, we find that the Lord has turned His attention to Israel in this Psalm.  Could there be a reason for this?  And could it be significant that Psalm 105 emphasizes “the judgments” that came on the land of Egypt [a type of the world], resulting in the deliverance of Israel from Egypt?  Is the Lord trying to tell us something?  You decide!

Folks, it is not going to get better.  The earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanoes, storms, etc. are only going to steadily and daily grow worse and worse.  We have just barely seen the beginning.  Today you mourn for the dead in Indonesia, but tomorrow you may be mourning for the dead in your own neighborhood.  Read God’s Word and believe it!

“He [the Lord] is wise in heart, and mighty in strength:  who hath hardened himself against Him, and hath prospered?

Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in His anger.

Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble,” Job 9:4-6.

“Thou hast made the earth to tremble; Thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh,” Psalm 60:2.

“His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth,” Psalm 97:4-5

“Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of His fierce anger,” Isaiah 13:13.

“And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the Lord, and for the glory of His majesty, when He ariseth to shake terribly the earth,”  Isaiah 2:19.

“Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth…..the foundations of the earth do shake…..the earth is moved exceedingly…..The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard…..”  Isaiah 24:17-20.

“But the Lord is the true God, He is the living God, and an everlasting King: at His wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide His indignation,  Jeremiah 10:10.

“For thus saith the Lord of hosts;  Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; and I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts,”  Haggai 2:6-7.

Folks, this is just a small sampling of Scriptures.  There are many more Scriptures that I could have used to point out that this shaking of the earth is going to grow steadily and progressively worse day by day.  Yes, today it is overseas in some far distant land.  But keep in mind, tomorrow it may be in your neighborhood.

The question I leave with you…..Are you truly saved?  Do you really know the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?  Do you really know that whatever a day brings forth, your soul is safe under the blood of Jesus?  Are you ready to meet the Lord?

“Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else,” Isaiah 45:22.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you,  He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life,” John 5:24.
