Hi John & All:
I am an avid reader of books from different genres, be they mystery, suspense, thrillers, adventure or whatever. When I dropped by one of the local branches of our Chapters Bookstore today, I noticed a table up front with a selection of the latest hardcover releases.
It's not very often that I recommend a book. The last time I did was back in the spring of 1999, at the former JVIM messageboard. It was a book by Jesse Duplantis on his visit to heaven. But having said that, when I approached this book table by the main doors, I noticed another book that I would heartily recommend ... in particular if you have unsaved loved ones.
The book is called simply: "JESUS". The author is Leith Anderson (ISBN # 0764224794).

It takes the four Gospels and the beginning of the Book of Acts, and tells the life story of our Lord and Savior, as a kind of Biblical novel in very easy to read and understand form. It solidly sticks to Biblical fundamentals, namely that Jesus was born of a virgin, came in the flesh as God among men, He healed the sick and raised the dead, went to the cross where he shed his blood and suffered and died for a lost humanity, rose from the dead and ascended to Heaven ... and He is coming again.
This is simply a great and inspirational book. It's especially good as a tool, if you have unsaved loved ones who like to read. It is by Bethany House Publishers, and sells for $19.99 U.S. ($21.97 CDN), which is a steal (pardon the saying), especially for a hardcover book.
See ya in the air,
Eric
