Dear John & Doves,
Jerry Golden's article called You can thank Russia for Iran's Nukes, and Syria's Missiles. Possibly even a possible third world war at http://www.thegoldenreport.com/asp/jerrysnewsmanager/anmviewer.asp?a=866&z=1 tells us why Assad wouldn't want to withdraw Syrian troops completely from Lebanon since the Bekkar valley in Lebanon is where all the dope is grown, and it also contains Iraqi's weapons of mass destruction.
"Watching Russia arm Iran and Syria with weapons to destroy Israel with is much like seeing the gun raised to your head knowing that someone is about the pull the trigger.""Not only is Russia supplying Iran with Nuclear reactors and the fuel to operate them. But they are supplying Syria with shoulder held anti-aircraft missiles to shoot down civilian airliners with. All the above will without any doubt end up in the hands of terrorist worldwide. George Bush says it’s okay because when Putin says something he can believe it, and they are great friends. Well just what does that mean? That it’s okay for Russia to supply the enemies of Israel with these weapons?"
"It is now known that Russia is about to launch an Iranian military satellite in order to help Iran in their ambitions to destroy Israel. And for any one who doubts their intentions all they have to do is look at the writing on the sides of their missiles that clearly shows their intentions to destroy Israel. In the mean time Iran, Saudi Arabia and Syria are pouring in intelligence and money to keep the war going between Israel and the so-called Palestinians in hopes of stalling the move of democracy in their own countries.""Nothing has changed with Russia and their close ties with the Arab world, and their assistance in helping to destroy Israel. Before the fall of the USSR hundreds of billions of dollars were spent arming Syrian, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon for the soul purpose of destroying Israel. I remember one day in June of 1982, the reason I remember so well I was in the IDF at that time, Syria lost 86 Mig Jets over Beirut in dog fights with Israeli jets. That was a loss of “86” to “0”. Russia pulled back a little after such a loss and it wasn’t until the fall of the USSR that Syria lost most of its support from Russia. But that support is now picking back up, as Putin is turning his back on any democracy in Russia."
"What we are seeing in Lebanon is rather difficult to understand as well, the Christians, Druses and even some Moslems are marching in the streets to force Syria out of Lebanon, while tens of thousands of Iranians (Hizbullah) are there, and armed with over 13,000 missiles, many armed with chemical warheads all aimed at Israel. But no one is saying they must leave."
"But I see a spark of good news coming from the “Palestinians) there is a low rumble coming from the streets in places like Ramallah and Hebron, that says they are tired of the old guard that came from Tunis with Arafat who still run the corruption. They know that Abbas has the same plans that Arafat had and in fact says it to them on Palestinian TV every day. It seems they are slowly waking up to the fact things must change that they have suffered enough to satisfy the rest of the Arab world who wants to destroy Israel so bad that they don’t care what happens to the “Palestinian people”. In fact, what is happening in Lebanon is encouraging some to do the same thing to get rid of that old guard, just like they are doing in Lebanon."
"You might find this strange coming from me, but all the Palestinians are not bad people, some of them still have the ability to think clearly. The have computers and access to the internet as you do, and can see for themselves that something is terribly wrong in the Arab world where the large majority do with out for the benefit of a few Dictators who all live like Kings."
"Here in Israel Abbas and all the rest of the Arafat colonies are millionaires and live in mansions, the average Palestinian can see what is happening, but because they are controlled by armed gangs (terrorist) who threaten them and force them to be obedient, they have little chance to overcome. While their kids are taught in schools that to die as a suicide bomber gives honor to Allah and to their family there isn’t much chance for the future. When uneducated mothers stand up holding pictures of the child who was a suicide bomber and she tells how proud she is you know something is terribly wrong with such a society."
But with the death of Arafat there is the possibility of a new day in Israel, but not with Abbas and everyone knows who and what this man is, in many ways he is far more dangerous than Arafat was.
"To get back to Russia, it is not in the best interest of Russia to see peace in this region, the Arabs are his largest and almost his only customer for weapons that translates into billions of dollars yearly into the Russian Government, they need that money to control the people. This is why we are seeing the arms sell to Syria and the Nuclear plants in Iran. And in the mean time North Korea is making sure they have the technology to deliver the nukes with missiles capable to reaching all of Europe and working on one that will reach the US. Yet everyone acts like it only Israel’s problem when in fact, it is the global problem, and when Iran cuts loose it will be to late. Maybe the big question is how long will Israel wait before hitting first?"
:While we are experiencing a relative calm here in Israel, that is as far as terrorism is concerned, but even that was broken with the Tel-Aviv bombing that killed 5 and wounded over 50 just last week. That attack was ordered from Damascus. Proving further that Syria and the rest of the Arab does not want to see any peace in Israel for fear of the attention they may be getting as Dictators."
"Bashar al Assad is in very deep trouble in Syria, he is caught between a rock and a hard spot. He can’t pull all his troops out of the Bekar valley in Lebanon that is where all his dope is grown worth millions of dollars to him, much like the poppy field of Afghanistan. There are also thousand of Syrians employed in the dope industry of the Bekkar valley. But that isn’t his only problem he has the old guard left over from his Dad’s ruling party the Alawites who control Syria with the military power supplied by Russia. There is a very good chance of a military take over pushing him out of power. And an assassination is not out of the question either."
"What I think will happen in the next week or so, possibly even quicker, Iran who has made a pack with Assad to protect them and Iran control the Hizbullah in southern Lebanon and the Bekkar valley. They will try to start a cross border war with Israel but try to contain it only to the border area in hopes of stopping the deployment of Syrian troops out of Lebanon. Hizbullah knows that if Syrian troops are moved completely out of Lebanon it leaves them in a very precarious position. Knowing that the Lebanon army may then try to disarm them. This would start the civil war all over in Lebanon."
"One thing is certain the Arab world is very concerned in what develops in Lebanon and Syria. There is another serious problem in the Bekar valley as well, it is believed, I think known, that the Iraqi weapons of mass destruction are hidden there, and Syria knows they can’t move them with the aerial surveillance, but if they leave them the US is sure to discover them with the help of the newly found Lebanon Government."
"In any event something will happen to involve Israel before this is over. To what extent that involvement will take Israel remains to be seen. One thing is certain Israel isn’t wanting to give Syria an excuse to leave their troop in the Bekar valley. But to say we are not nervous with Hizbullah setting there with a known 13,000 missiles with chemical warheads aimed at out our northern towns wouldn’t be true either."
