"Which did God say in Dan.9:27: "make a covenant" or "confirm the covenant" ?"

John and Doves:

Daniel 9:27 is a very KEY verse used by ALL prophecy students. Now I know God says about himself that “he changeth not”, however as I read Daniel 9:27 from Revised versions, they CHANGE the meaning of these words substantially from what the King James Bible says. For instance “making a covenant” (RV) is all together different than “confirming the covenant” as the King James Bible (KJV) declares. If you study out the word “confirm” in the KJV you find it means “to strengthen” rather than to make. Also “confirming (strengthening) THE covenant” (KJV) says someone is adding strength to an existing covenant rather than making “A” new one.

Now let’s look at the last word of Daniel 9:27. The King James Version ends that verse with the “desolate”, however some of the Revised versions CHANGE that last word to the “desolator” (RV). Those two words are diametrically opposed to each other. The “desolate” in the KJV would be like comparing the 6-Million murdered DESOLATE Jews of the Holocaust to the murderer and THE DESOLATOR Hitler! Now is there any comparison between those two? Of course not!

Therefore which did God say: “make a covenant” (RV) or “confirm the covenant” (KJV) and “desolator” (RV) or “desolate” (KJV)? He couldn’t have said both. I Only have a High School education but even I can see God didn’t say both. Now I know there are a lot of scholarly individuals with Bible College educations that read the Five Doves that could help me and others once and for all clear this confusion up.
