Over the past year I presented 2 detailed timeline possibilities for the various prophetic counts. Both were based upon a 3 1/2 year time of great tribulation. The first presentation was for a period spanning spring 2009 through fall 2012, and the second was for spring 2006 through fall 2009. There was a very compelling harmony in both of these timeline possibilities as they were very similar in pattern, and they linked the spring feast/fast days with the fall feast/fast days. In the past several months, the possible prophetic significance of 2005 has been explored. I have been writing of the possible significance of 2005 for several years now, but could not identify a relationship of all the counts with this year.
I have since taken another look at the counts. Not only for 2005, but also 2004 through 2012 as possible starting points. What I found is a very interesting pattern that was EXACTLY the same for 7 of these 9 years. The 7 years are 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011 & 2012. Even though 2008 & 2009 do not fit the pattern of the other 7 years, they may still be significant because they both tie into the Sabbath of Return. Regardless, the starting days are the same for all 9 years.
To begin my explanation of this pattern, I believe these counts are concurrent not consecutive. Moreover, I believe they all fit within a general timeframe of 3 1/2 years, starting in the spring. This is the conviction I have based upon my study to date. If I am wrong in my current understanding, I believe our Lord will lead me to truth because I pray and trust that He will do so. I also acknowledge that there may be dual meaning for some of these counts, such the days representing years in addition to actual days.
A foundational prophesy for this pattern is found in Amos 8:10 "I will turn your feasts into mourning, And all your songs into lamentation; I will bring sackcloth on every waist, And baldness on every head; I will make it like mourning for an only son, And its end like a bitter day." [NKJV] Amos is telling us that the feasts will be turned into mourning. This is important because the counts are associated with the time of trouble and the persecution of the beast; times of mourning indeed. All the counts are based upon the Hebrew inclusive method of counting. Also keep in mind that a Hebrew day is reckoned from sundown to sundown, so each significant day actually begins the evening before and concludes at sundown the day of. The Gregorian dates used to calculate the counts reflect this fact.
1335 Days
The pattern begins on Purim. Purim commemorates the time when the Jewish people living in Persia were saved from extermination at the hands of Haman. It is a feast celebration. The longest count is the 1335 days of Daniel 12:12. Daniel was told that people who reach the conclusion of these 1335 days are blessed, and that Daniel would receive his inheritance at the end of the days. I believe we can conclude that by the end of these 1335 days all will be completed. We know this because anyone who reaches it is blessed and Daniel will receive his inheritance. Daniel will not receive his inheritance until after the 2nd Coming, when Israel is restored at the head of nations and the Kingdom is established. People who reach the Kingdom are also blessed.
This ties into the themes of Purim. At the 2nd Coming Israel will be saved from the hands of the beast, just as they were saved from the hands of Haman. But at the beginning of this time of trouble, Purim may become a time of mourning instead of a time of celebration. Just as Amos stated.
Counting 1335 days from a Purim of any of the 7 years brings one to exactly 40 days inclusively after Yom Kippur approximately 3 1/2 years later. Remember the judgment of the earth in the time of Noah?
1290 Days
In Daniel 12:11 we are given the 1290 days. These are the first 1290 days of the 1335 days. We know from the preceding verses of this chapter that this 1290/1335 day period of time is:
- A "time of trouble"
- A time when "your people shall be delivered"
- A time when "many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt"
- A time when "the power of the holy people has been completely shattered"
- A time when "many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand"
- A time of the "abomination of desolation"
- And a time when the "continual is taken away"
In a previous letter I showed how the word "sacrifice" does not belong in verse 11, as well as many other Daniel verses, because it is not in the original Hebrew. The Hebrew word "Tamiyd" is an adjective used substantively with no noun and only means "Continual" or "Perpetual". We don't know what this Continual/Perpetual is at this time because scripture does not identify it. When the fulfillment of this prophesy occurs, then we will know what Continual/Perpetual is taken away.
This period of time is clearly the end of the age, where we have both the time of trouble and the persecution of the holy people by the beast. Yet it is also a time when Daniels people are delivered, and of resurrection. We know that Daniels people are not delivered until the 2nd Coming when "they will look on Me whom they pierced" [Zech. 12:10]. These days are the last 3 1/2 years of this age [I.E. the time of Great Tribulation]. Keep these Daniel chapter 12 events, Yom Kippur and the 40 days associated with the 1335 days in mind as we look at the 1290 days.
Counting 1290 days from a Purim of any of the 7 years brings one to exactly 7 days inclusively before Yom Kippur approximately 3 1/2 years later.
Remember what Daniel says, "but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand". The wicked will not understand until the 2nd Coming. Then they will understand and the judgment of the Day of the Lord, the great wine harvest at the end of the age, will be poured out on them.
In Matthew 24:38-39 Yeshua tells us that in the time of Noah, the people were carrying on with their lives until the 40 days of judgment came and took their lives. Yeshua says that it will be the same at His 2nd Coming. Based upon prophecy and this pattern of counts, perhaps this fulfillment will follow the Noah script literally.
Moreover, Genesis 7:4 tells us that Noah was given a 7 day advance warning to get into the ark before judgment began. The 1290 day count from Purim ends 7 days inclusively before Yom Kippur. The 1335 day count from Purim, after which people are blessed and Daniel receives his inheritance, ends 40 days inclusively after Yom Kippur. Just as in the days of Noah, 7 days before judgment begins and 40 days of judgment. Very interesting is it not?
Yom Kippur stands out as the threshold of judgment in these counts. Amazingly, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is known as the day judgment is sealed. It is the end of the 10 Days of Awe that started on Rosh Hashanah, and the last day for which one can demonstrate repentance.
1260 Days
The 1260 day count is found in Revelation 11:3. It is the time when the 2 witnesses will prophesy. We know that the 2 witnesses prophesy during the time that the beast has power, because the beast kills them at the end of these 1260 days. Keep this in mind. Pesach [Passover] could be a fitting time for the ministry of the 2 witnesses to begin. Perhaps they are called to action due to the event that occurs the Purim before.
The 2 witnesses are dressed in sackcloth; a garment worn by mourners. This shows us that their 1260 days of ministry are also a time of mourning. If they begin on the 1st day of Pesach, a time of feasting and celebration, it would again be in fulfillment of Amos 8:10.
Counting 1260 days from the first day of Pesach of any of the 7 years brings one to exactly 7 days inclusively before Yom Kippur approximately 3 1/2 years later. The same end day as the 1290 days. The ending of the 1260 days of ministry, and/or the deaths of the 2 witnesses at the hands of the beast, could be the event which marks the 7 day warning until Yom Kippur and the 40 days of judgment.
It is likely that the 1290 days and the 1260 days would end around the same time because of the detail given in Daniel 12:7 when "the power of the holy people has been completely shattered". I think everyone would agree that the 2 witnesses are also holy people; therefore the power of the holy people is not COMPLETELY shattered until these 2 witnesses are overcome and killed by the beast.
Revelation 11:10 tells us there will be great merry making and gift giving when the beast kills the 2 witnesses. Sounds a lot like the eating, drinking, marrying and giving in marriage [I.E. Celebrating] of Matthew 24:38 does it not? This celebration occurs during the 3 1/2 days that the 2 witnesses' bodies lay dead on a street of Jerusalem. We know the city is Jerusalem because of the detail given in verse 8, "where also our Lord was crucified". Oddly enough, periods of 3 1/2 days come into focus in our next count.
During the time the 2 witnesses are on the scene, the wise of Israel, the woman who bore the male child, might understand and flee "into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there 1260 days" [Rev 12:6]. Of course many are not wise and will not flee, just as when the Romans sacked Jerusalem back in 70 AD.
2300 Evenings & Mornings [I.E. 1150 Days]
These 2300 evenings & mornings or 1150 days are found in Daniel 8:9-14. In this passage of scripture we again find the Hebrew word "Tamiyd", an adjective used substantively with no noun which only means "Continual" or "Perpetual", used 3 times. So the sacrifice is not in view here. Only a Continual/Perpetual of which we cannot yet identify. We will only be able to identify it after it's fulfillment.
Another English translation issue is involved with this passage. It surrounds the words translated as "Sanctuary". In verse 11, the Hebrew word "Miqdash" is used which literally means "Sanctuary". But in verses 13 & 14, the word many bible versions incorrectly translate as "Sanctuary" is the Hebrew word "Qodesh". Qodesh means: apartness, holiness, sacredness, separateness, set-apartness. When Daniel wants to identify a "Place" of a Sanctuary, he uses the proper word to denote this, Miqdash [see the context of Miqdash in Daniel 8:11 & 9:17]. It seems to me that when Daniel wants us to understand he his writing of the Sanctuary he uses the correct Hebrew word for Sanctuary, but when is writing of an apartness, holiness, sacredness, separateness, set-apartness, he uses the word Miqdash.
I submit to you that this is not an accident. It is likely that the much broader meaning of apartness, holiness, sacredness, separateness, or set-apartness is meant in verses 13 & 14, just as the word used actually means. In verse 13 the question is asked, "How long will the vision be, concerning the [Tamyid - Continual/Perpetual] and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the [Qodesh - Apartness, Holiness, Sacredness, Separateness, Set-apartness] and the host to be trampled under foot?" So during this 2300 evenings & mornings or 1150 days, the continual/perpetual has been taken away, the transgression of desolation will occur, and the trampling under foot of both the host and the "Qodesh" [whatever this apartness, etc., ends up representing] will occur. All of these conditions existing during the 1150 days.
Counting 1150 days [exactly 2300 evenings & mornings] from the 9th of Av of any of the 7 years brings one to exactly the center day between the end date of both the 1290 & 1260 day counts, and the day of Yom Kippur. In other words, the 1150 days end exactly 3 1/2 days after the conclusion of the 1290 & 1260 counts, and 3 1/2 days prior to Yom Kippur. Remember how long the 2 witnesses will be dead? Is this just a coincidence?
An interesting side point about this year's 9th of Av [spanning Gregorian dates 8/13 - 8/14] is that this is the day that the proposed Israel disengagement plan targets as the last day for the settlers to leave voluntary. After 8/14, a forced ban on entry to the Gaza Strip will be imposed militarily. [See the following articles: Haaretz International - towards the end / Israel Insider - towards the center] There have been recent discussions that Israel may try to move this timetable up, but nothing is written in stone yet.
Another major point regarding this 1150 day count is that at it's conclusion, a momentous event occurs. See Daniel 8:14. The King James version says "then shall the [Qodesh - translated sanctuary] be [Cleansed]" There is another striking translation anomaly regarding the word "Cleansed". It is the Hebrew word "Tsadaq" which actually means: to be just, be righteous, made right, be justified, vindicate. It is a verb describing an action occurring to the noun "Qodesh". We have already seen that Qodesh doesn't really mean a place - Sanctuary. Instead is means Apartness, Holiness, Sacredness, Separateness, Set-apartness. We see that use of the word Cleansed is not appropriate, as the actual meaning of the word Tsadaq [to be just, be righteous, made right, be justified, vindicate] is much more appropriate. A literal translation would be more like "Then shall the separateness be made right" or "Then shall the holy be vindicated".
Moreover, several studies have been made on the use of the verb Tsadaq, the nouns Tsedeq/Tsedaqah [righteousness], and the adjective-noun Tsaddiq [righteous]. Scholars generally accepted that these terms are associated in the Old Testament with the law court, God's salvific actions, and the sanctuary services. These words emphasize the idea of restoring or preserving the order established by God.
The primary use of the root Tsadaq is legal. It designates the restoration of the legal rights of a person falsely accused of a crime. The legal context presupposes a legal procedure. Thus, the psalmist prayed to God, "Judge me, O Lord, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity within me." [Ps. 7:8 NKJV] This individual knows that they are innocent, and goes to the sanctuary seeking vindication. There God will vindicate the person, or declare them innocent [see Ps. 9:4 / 1 Kings 8:31-32 / Isa. 50:8-9]. If the person is guilty, God will not acquit them [see Ex. 23:7 / Lev. 19:15 / Deut. 16:18]. In such contexts the righteous are declared innocent and the accusers condemned [see 2 Chron. 6:23 / Ps. 7:8-9 / Deut. 25:1]. Therefore, the destruction of the wicked always takes place as a manifestation of God's righteousness on behalf of those whom He vindicates.
This whole issue regarding the correct exegesis of Qodesh and Tsadaq in Daniel is very interesting in context of what Daniel tells about this very same period of time in the chapter just before this; chapter 7. Remember, chapters and verses are man's artificial indexing of God's Word. This is Daniels continuous writing.
Daniel 7:20 and the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, before which three fell, namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth which spoke pompous words, whose appearance was greater than his fellows. 21 I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom. [NKJV]
Daniel 7:25 He shall speak pompous words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time. 26 'But the court shall be seated, And they shall take away his dominion, To consume and destroy it forever. 27 Then the kingdom and dominion, And the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, Shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And all dominions shall serve and obey Him.' [NKJV]
As we see, the concepts of Qodesh and especially Tsadaq are in plain view in chapter 7. This is the same time period of the power of the beast. He is persecuting the saints. But then the court is seated, and the Ancient of Days pronounces judgment against the beast and his kingdom [I.E. the Day of the Lord]. And the saints are given possession of His Kingdom. Isn't this what happens at the 2nd Coming and subsequent judgment? So with the context of both chapters 7 & 8 taken together, we see that at the completion of the 1150 days, the 2nd Coming and judgment of the beast must occur.
So in this repeating count pattern, we have the 2 witnesses complete their 1260 day testimony, at which time the power of the holy people is completely shattered. They are killed by the beast. They lie dead for 3 1/2 days. The 1150 day count, after which the 2nd coming and judgment must occur, always ends 3 1/2 days after the completion of the 1260 days in this pattern. And what happens after the completion of these 3 1/2 days that the witnesses lay dead? They are told to "Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud" [Rev. 11:12]. Then 3 1/2 days later, on the day of Yom Kippur, 40 days of judgment begin, just as the days of Noah, just as Daniel chapter 7 & 8 tell us.
The saints who have been persecuted by the beast are vindicated. The separateness of the followers of Yeshua and the house of David is made right!!
Why the additional 3 1/2 days between "Come up hither" and Yom Kippur's judgment? It could be the amount of time for God to pour grace and supplication on the house of David when they see Him who they pierced [Zech. 12:10]. And/or the time to seal the 144,000 before judgment [Rev. 7:1-12]. With Yom Kippur being the last day to demonstrate repentance or suffer judgment.
What do you think so far?
42 Months
In Revelations 13:5, we are told the beast is given authority to continue for 42 months. This is another timeframe concurrent to the ones we have already explored. It is the time when the beast persecutes the saints.
If we look at Shavout [Pentecost], it occurs in the Hebrew month of Sivan. This is very interesting because in all of the 9 start years, if we count 42 Hebrew months inclusively from Sivan, we always arrive at the month of Tishri approximately 3 1/2 years later. Tishri is the month that all the fall feast/fast days occur.
This harmonizes well with all that we have discovered about the other counts. It will clearly be a time of mourning when the beast is given this authority. Again we have the Amos prophesy of a feast day being turned into mourning.
Additionally, Revelations 11:2 tells of a time when the Gentiles will tread the holy city under foot for 42 months. Perhaps this is the time as the authority of the beast. Or it may be representative of the 1260 days that the 2 witnesses prophesy. In either case it fits well within this pattern.
This is a truly amazing pattern IMHO!
Summary of the Pattern
To summarize:
- The pattern begins on Purim of any of the 7 starting years of 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011 or 2012.
- Counting 1335 days from Purim brings one to 40 days after Yom Kippur.
- Counting 1290 days from Purim brings one to 7 days before Yom Kippur.
- Counting 1260 days from the first day of Pesach [Passover] also brings one to 7 days before Yom Kippur.
- Counting 1150 days from the 9th of Av brings one to the center of the 7 days between the end of the 1290 & 1260 day counts and Yom Kippur, splitting these 7 days into two 3 1/2 day halves.
- Counting 42 Hebrew months from Sivan, the month of Shavout [Pentecost], brings one to the month of Tishri, when all will be accomplished.
It certainly seems that this pattern is more then just coincidence. If it proves to be true, we might see a scenario that goes something like this:
- On Purim of some year, a continual of some sort may be taken away. This may not be readily apparent because we don't yet know what this continual is.
- 30 days later, on the first day of Pesach the 2 witnesses will begin their ministry. This may be the most outwardly visible sign on the horizon denoting where we are on God's timeline. It may take some time before news of these witnesses spreads.
- Then around Shavout of the same year, the beast will come into view because he has received his authority to continue 42 months.
- Then on the 9th of Av of the same year all hell will break loose. The Great Tribulation will be in full swing.
- After which, if were all still here, we'll know which rapture theory is correct.
- Approximately 3 1/2 years later the 2 witnesses are killed.
- 3 1/2 days after they are killed, they are resurrected at the 2nd Coming.
- The house of David is given 3 1/2 more days to repent and be sealed from the judgment to come.
- On Yom Kippur the 40 days of the Day of the Lord judgment commences.
- At the end these 40 days Israel is placed at the head of nations and the Kingdom of God begins. The people who attain the Kingdom are blessed and Daniel will finally receive his inheritance.
Following is a chart showing this pattern. Keep in mind that 2008 & 2009 do not fit the pattern of the other 7 start years, but they may still be significant because they both tie into the Sabbath of Return.
