“A WOKEUP GENERATION”
There was…at one time, long ago. “Waking up” then, meant another day of plowing a field, tending to stock, building a barn, cooking a meal to feed everyone, chopping firewood, washing dirty clothes and hanging them out to dry, starching them, ironing them. Weeding the garden, canning peas and storing potatoes, mending socks and braiding rugs, reading the Bible before bedtime after tucking in the children into warm beds covered with homemade quilts. Then repeating it all, over again and again when sunrise arrived.
But today? Signs are everywhere: begging people to work…
