"Thoughts and Mullings"

I have a sister (biological - although sometimes I wonder..... haha !) who is a Jehovah's Witness. The one thing that struck me was it is strongly advised for them not to read any other literature other than their own. This "advice" is couched in saccharine sweet terms but is expected to be obeyed - under the guise that it will "confuse" them. They believe that the locusts of Revelations are themselves !! Yup - you read that right. The way they explain this is that they are annoying and nuisances when they go door to door, bothering people. They feel utterly empowered when they are turned away because " the truth" is being rejected and *sigh* they have but tried. If you don't believe me - go purchase a JW book explaining Revelations. It's mind boggling. Don't get me wrong - I believe the majority are really blinded and truly feel they are doing Jehovah's work. However - to buy into the whole concept is to believe that salvation cannot come without works. Their works is what scores them brownie points in heaven. They don't believe Jesus resurrected in body form. They don't believe in the Trinity. And they believe that when we die, we die. Dead. Kaput. Until the Resurrection at the end of the thousand years. So very comforting when one loses a beloved  (sarcasm intended)

There is so much more I could tell you. I studied with them for over a year. Thank God He answered my prayers to lead me to the real truth. And I prayed hard. It was all so confusing to a complete Bible illiterate - which I was. So much of what they said appeared logical. I look back now and think WHAT???
Which all leads me to something which has been bugging me a little. It doesn't keep me awake at night but it is irritating. A mainstream Christian forum has just closed up shop and relocated to Facebook (sense the irony) and in one of the closing posts, a member queried if it was still frowned upon to quote from or link to, a post from Five Doves !!! Excuse me - we are all supposed to be on the same page. Bible believing Christians exchanging ideas. Am I right or am I right? This forum had "moderators" who consider themselves the last word in Biblical truth. Rather puffed up with pride and confidence in their own wisdom. There were articles that I thought were brilliant and insightful. All would appear well until someone stepped out of the "comfort zone" and were summarily banned. In a very rude way, I might add.

Five Doves has had it's ups and downs with fierce to and fro posts exchanged. One particular woman was determined to vilify the Jewish people and deny the Holocaust etc. But we got through it. Thanks to the wisdom of John Tng,. But, at the end of the day, we are ALL Bible believing Christians. Waiting for our LORD.

In closing - remember the words of the young prophet that God sent us in these closing years. Nathan. We are nearly there.

Amos 3:7 -  Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing His plan to His servants the prophets.

Amos 3:7 Surely the Sovereign LORD does nothing without revealing his plan to his servants the prophets.
