You are right about the use of "then." However, I think the time of Mt. 24:51 and 25:1 is the time of the First-Trump Rapture. To me, those that are foolish are the lukewarm Laodiceans. Unless they repent, they will get left behind.
Rev 3:18,19 says, "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent."
This group have spotted robes the first time around, but by the Last-Trump Rapture, they have wised up and "have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." (Rev 7:14). To accomplish that, they can use I John 1:9.
It says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Back to Matthew. Mat 24:44-51 says, "Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh. 45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. 47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion (i.e., of the Tribulation) with the hypocrites (pretenders): there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
Luk 12:46 agrees. It says, "The lord of that servant (the unwise one) will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder (i.e., cut him off), and will appoint him his portion (meros, section, i.e., the last section of the shortened Tribulation) with the unbelievers."
WE MUST BE CALLED, AND CHOSEN, AND FAITHFUL
Mat 22:10-14 says, " So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests. 11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: 12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. 13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. 14 For many are CALLED, but few are CHOSEN."
Rev 17:14 says of Jesus, "he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and THEY THAT ARE WITH HIM ARE CALLED, AND CHOSEN, AND FAITHFUL."
At that point, the First-Trump Rapture has already taken place. What preceded it?
Rev 17:10-14 says, "And there are seven kings (kings of Babel, Babylon II, Media-Persia, Greece, Holy Roman Empire, Ecclesiastical Holy Roman Empire, and Babylon III): five are fallen, and one is (the Pope, head of the Ecclesiastical Holy Roman Empire), and the other (king of Babylon III) is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 11 And the beast (Satan) that was (i.e., in Judas Iscariot), and is not (in man now), even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition (i.e., the False Prophet). 12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are TEN KINGS, WHICH HAVE RECEIVED NO KINGDOM AS YET; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. 13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. 14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and THEY THAT ARE WITH HIM ARE CALLED, AND CHOSEN, AND FAITHFUL."
We are almost home. We will be raptured before the 10 kings receive their kingdom. Right now, the world has been divided into 10 regions, but no kings have been appointed to the ten regions.
The ten kings will arise before the False Prophet comes to full power.
Dan_7:24 says, "And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and ANOTHER (i.e., the False Prophet) SHALL RISE AFTER THEM; and he shall be diverse from the first (i.e., the Antichrist), and he shall subdue three kings."
Rev 13:1-10 says, "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea (nations and people, and maybe the so-called Holy See), having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns TEN CROWNS (i.e., this is a picture of the time AFTER the First-Trump Rapture has taken place), and upon his heads THE NAME OF BLASPHEMY (Pontifex Maximus, used from Nimrod to Babylon III). 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard (Greece, Dan 7:6), and his feet were as the feet of a bear (Media-Persia, Dan 7:5), and his mouth as the mouth of a lion (Babylon, Dan 7 4): and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3 And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death (John Paul II); and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast (i.e., the 7th), saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies (saying that all are saved by Christ's sacrifice on the cross, even Muslims?); and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months (i.e., the Great Tribulation). 6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven (i.e., the First-Trump Rapture has already taken place). 7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints (including the foolish virgins), and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. 9 If any man have an ear, let him hear. 10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints. "
THE SEVEN HEADS THAT HAVE THE NAME OF BLASPHEMY, PONTIFEX MAXIMUS
Rev 17:3-5 says, "So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. 4 And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: 5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH."
Rev 17:10 says, "And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come."
The countries whose kings claim the title Pontifex Maximus.
Rev 17:10 says, "And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is (the Ecclesiastical Holy Roman Empire), and the other (Babylon III) is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space" (i.e., the shortened Great Tribulation).
THE COUNTRIES RULED BY A PONTIFEX MAXIMUS
2. Babylon II
5. Holy Roman Empire
6. Ecclesiastical Holy Roman Empire (Antichrist)
7. Babylon III (False Prophet)
THE FALSE PROPHET
Rev 13:11-18 says, "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns (two comings to power) like a lamb (Christ has two comings), and he spake as a dragon (i.e., Satan). 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. 16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."
Lately, Pope Francis said, "The Lord has redeemed all of us, all of us, with the Blood of Christ: all of us, not just Catholics. Everyone! 'Father, the atheists?' Even the atheists. Everyone! And this Blood makes us children of God of the first class! We are created children in the likeness of God and the Blood of Christ has redeemed us all! And we all have a duty to do good. And this commandment for everyone to do good, I think, is a beautiful path towards peace. If we, each doing our own part, if we do good to others, if we meet there, doing good, and we go slowly, gently, little by little, we will make that culture of encounter: we need that so much. We must meet one another doing good. 'But I don't believe, Father, I am an atheist!' But do good: we will meet one another there."
Does that sound like an Antichrist?
I don't think the atheists are saved. For the blood of Christ to apply to us, we must believe in Christ.
Rom 10:9,10 says, " That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
The atheists don't qualify.

The Marriage of the Lamb has not yet taken place.
Rev_19:7 says, "Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready."
> The five wise virgins had the lamp (the Torah) and the oil (the Gospel) > and had believed and were born again, thus having the jar of extra oil > which is the Holy Spirit.
If the extra oil is the Holy Spirit, the oil in the lamp is too.
Joh_8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."
Psa_119:105 says, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
Mat_5:14-16 says, "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

I think he is talking about the First-Trump Rapture. To me, the foolish virgins are the unrepentant Laodiceans. They will be caught up at the Last-Trump Rapture.

"THE TEN VIRGINS"
Dear John and all Doves,
First of all I would like to thank Frank M. for his comment about the five foolish virgins not being Jewish, as I stated in my post about the 70th Week. Since I sincerely felt this to be true, I decided to do an in depth study of the ten virgins. Frank, you were right that the 5 foolish virgins are not Jewish, as it turns out, ALL the 10 virgins are. They may not be Jewish, as from the tribe of Judah, but they are all National Israel, as in the ten lost tribes of Israel. The parable of the ten virgins is not about the church at all, and with this study I will attempt to prove it.
Matthew 25 is a continuation of Matthew 24 as it begins with the word "then" meaning the time of the Second Coming of Jesus after the Great Tribulation. At that time Jesus will establish His kingdom on earth. So, Jesus tells us that the coming of the Kingdom of Heaven is similar to ten virgins waiting for the Bridegroom. This parable takes place after the rapture, and is not a picture of the wedding, but of the wedding supper. The wedding supper takes place 7 days after the marriage, in Jewish tradition, after the Bride and groom have consummated the marriage. The Bride, the born again Church, was taken in the rapture and has spent 7 days (years) with Christ. At this point, the Church, the Bride is already married to Christ and therefore can no longer be considered virgins.
In this parable they represent the Nation of Israel during the tribulation. They are those invited to the wedding feast of Jesus and His Church, after His Second Coming.
Let's first take a look at where in the Gospels it says that we are married to Christ as born again believers. In Romans 7:4 Paul speaks about this relationship:
Rom 7:4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, [even] to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.
Eph 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Jhn 3:29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
Thus, the spiritual bride, the church, was purchased by the blood of Christ, and brought into existence in like manner as Eve, Adamís bride.
Our first husband was the first Adam (the law)who dies when we become born again and are now married to the last Adam, Jesus Christ. So we can no longer be virgins, and besides the parable is speaking of the bridesmaids not the Bride.
Where in the Bible is Israel spoken of as a virgin? 'Virgins' describe the ingathering of the exiles in the end of days.
KJV Jeremiah 31:4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be.
KJV Jeremiah 31:13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
KJV Jeremiah 31:21 Set thee up waymarks, make thee high heaps: set thine heart toward the highway, even the way which thou wentest: turn again, O virgin of Israel, turn again to these thy cities.
Amo 5:2 The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; [there is] none to raise her up.
E phraim (Jeremiah 31:9) (known as the TEN tribes) are being gathered as a 'shepherd does his flock' (Jeremiah 31:10). The exiles who are being gathered as called, 'virgins' (Jeremiah 31:4 and Jeremiah 31:13).
Therefore the TEN VIRGINS represent the ingathering of the Ten Tribes / Ephraim in the end of days.
With this concept now in mind, let's look at the parable itself and see what we find:
Mat 25:1 ∂ Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
The lamps represent the Torah, the law, the Word of God. The light of the World. The Word of God is like a lamp to our feet.
Mat 25:2 And five of them were wise, and five [were] foolish.
The five wise virgins had the lamp (the Torah) and the oil (the Gospel) and had believed and were born again, thus having the jar of extra oil which is the Holy Spirit.
The five foolish virgins had the lamp( the Torah) and the oil (the Gospel had been preached to them) but did not have faith and believe it, therefore they did not have the jar of extra oil which is the Holy Spirit, which they would have had, had they been born again.
Mat 25:3 They that [were] foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
They had been preached the Gospel, but had no faith and did not receive the Holy Spirit.
Mat 25:4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
The oil is the Gospel, preached to them by the 144,000 and the Two Witnesses. The extra oil, or the jars of extra oil ,is the Holy Spirit. After believing the Gospel and accepting Christ into their hearts they receive the Holy Spirit and are born again. Unless we are born again we cannot have a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Christ.
Mat 25:5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
Some accepted the antichrist as the Messiah and all slumbered during the 7 year tribulation.
Mat 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
The tribulation rages and they are awoken by the sound of the last trump.
Mat 25:6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Midnight is the end of the Tribulation and they all awake, but only those with extra oil in their lamps (the Holy Spirit) can go out to meet Christ.
Mat 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
The word of the Torah does not sustain them, and the belief in the Gospel has faded.
Mat 25:9 But the wise answered, saying, [Not so]; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
The wise tell the foolish that they cannot give them their extra oil...they must go and buy it...find Christ and pay with your lives, having given up your lives to Him.
Mat 25:10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
It was too late to be born again and to have a personal relationship with Christ through the Holy Spirit. The born again believers have gone into the Marriage Supper and the door is closed.
Mat 25:11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
We know about the Gospel, and we believe.
Mat 25:12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Mat 25:13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
The nation of Israel will not expect the return of Christ because they have accepted the Antichrist as their Messiah and are surprised by the Second Coming. Only those who are saved by the witnesses of the 144,000 and the Two Witnesses will be watching and have the Holy Spirit and go into the Wedding Supper. The wedding garment is having the Holy Spirit, and without believing the Gospel and giving your life to Christ, you cannot have the wedding garment and therefore are not allowed into the Wedding Supper.
The ten virgins could very well equal the 10 lost tribes, as it certainly seems to point to just that being the case. To me this makes much more sense, expecially when we look at the time frame in which Jesus is speaking. It is about His Second Coming and not about rapture. At the time that Jesus is speaking there is no Church yet, so certainly no one listening to this parable would have equated it with meaning anything but having to do with the Nation of Israel. That being said the wise virgins that are slumbering are most like resting in the peace and safety of having Jesus as their Savior and knowing that they will be ready when he comes. The foolish who are also slumbering are resting on knowing the Law and having the lamp (the Torah) and may have already accepted the False Messiah as their savior. Just an interesting thought.
All the parables of Jesus are like an onion in that have many layers and many applications. It is certainly alright to look at this parable as a warning to the Church also, but that does not mean that Jesus is referring to the Church when he gave this parable. It seems we have taken this out of context, although the content is valid for all believers.
Some of you out there may already hold this view, but this has been a new revelation to me, and it has been so exciting to finally understand the true meaning of something that never really rang true for me before. I am sure there could be much more said about this, and a great more studying done, this post is meant to open the discussion and then see what we come up with together.
May we all have the lamp to light our path, the oil to fill it, and the jar with extra oil to sustain us until he shouts our names.
JESUS IS LORD!!
