Acts 2:17, “And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of My Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:…..” 

 

Though Peter was talking to a Jewish audience.  The scripture you and he quoted clearly indicates pouring of the Spirit on ALL FLESH.  This does not in anyway disqualify anything in your excellent essay, but it did stand out to me that everyone (all flesh) are candidates for dreams and visions, not just the jewish people.

 

Something else that stuck out while reading...the "marrying and giving in marriage."  For some reason that has always struck me as a strange thing to say.  However, as I read it this time I kept thinking about the gay marriage issue and how strong it is right now which seems to make the "marrying and giving in marriage" I don't know...it just seems to suddenly stand out with purpose rather than just being there.
