THE TIMING OF THE FIRST-TRUMP RAPTURE AND THE LAST-TRUMP RAPTUREBy Marilyn Agee, posted June 5, 2011
THE FIRST-TRUMP RAPTURE
The First-Trump Rapture is in I Thess 4:16,17. It says, 16 "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP OF GOD: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
THE LAST-TRUMP RAPTURE
The Last-Trump Rapture is in I Cor 15:51-54. It says, "Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all (people of both Raptures and the dead in Christ, even Paul) be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the LAST TRUMP: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption (at each Rapture), and this mortal must put on immortality" (only available at the Last-Trump Rapture).
The first trump is blown with the left horn of the ram Abraham sacrificed instead of Isaac (Gen 22:13). The last trump is blown with the right horn of the ram.
The Rabbis blow the FIRST TRUMP, the left horn, on PENTECOST, and the LAST TRUMP, the right horn, on the FEAST OF TRUMPETS. It is easy to tell that the LAST-TRUMP RAPTURE will be on Trumpets (Joel 2:1-2), so why wouldn't the FIRST-TRUMP RAPTURE come on Pentecost?
Joel 2:1,2 says, "Blow ye the TRUMPET in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the DAY OF THE LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand; 2 A day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick darkness, as the morning spread upon the mountains: a great people and a strong (Gog's army); there hath not been ever the like, neither shall be any more after it, even to the years of many generations."
The ram's horn, the shofar, is a reminder of God's provision of a ram as a substitute for Isaac (Genesis 22:13).
