"42 used in a surprising way"

I have not been a big fan of certain “numbers” popping up (sorry to those that believe in them.)

But what happened last week, has got me thinking.  I will not bore you with the very long story, but…

In an email that I received, “42” was used in a very strange way.

When responding to question posted on a national forum one of my peers responded with this sentence:

Forty two months ago we built a new 2075 square foot office in the country to meet the demands of our business in an open and spacious way.”

Now that is a weird way to respond to a very simple question.  AND why count how many months ago?  Wouldn’t you use “over 3 years ago” or “3 and half years ago”

Anyways the fact that he spelled it out caught my attention.  To nail even further, on the way home that day, I found a license plate that looked like this  “42E TP7”

42 months ago (from June ’09) is December ’05.  42 months from now is December, 2012.

For you longtime Watchers; is there any significance in this?
