"TJ RE:  Third Temple"

TJ,

Thanks for this interesting info.  I was not aware that it was calculated in this manner- 70 yr cycle.  Only thing is,  I was hoping that the Rapture would be this year.  As someone pointed out 2008-2009 is a Sabbath year, and RH of 2009 would usher in a new 7 year cycle.  It is quite possible that we could be taken up on RH of ‘09, and the Peace treaty be signed on the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur).  As Alexander Pope stated “Hope springs eternal in the human breast; Man never is, but always to be blest”  Every time RH/Pentecost comes along, we hope against hope that it would usher into the Lord’s presence.  The peace treaty has to signed on the Festival day, so as for the Lord to return on the Festival Day.  There will be an interval of 10 days between RH and Yom Kippur, and enough time to sign a peace treaty.

On the other hand, it looks as if the Peace Treaty is not going to come to fruition with her immediate neighbour....

I agree with you re: the Mosque coming down and the Arabs going into a frenzy- Jihad against Israel.  At the same time I personally very much doubt, there would ever be a   Peace with the Palestinians.  They have sworn to destroy Israel and push the Jews into the sea.  Even if the PA agrees to  some sort of truce, we know the Hamas is  unbending; from the below article (published today) one can see that this truce can never be reached.  Both sides will not give in.

Israel ‘Fed Up' with US Declarations against Yesha

Tammuz 8, 5769 / June 30, '09

“Quote: The Prime Minister declared for the first time that he would accept the creation of a new Arab state on part of the land of Judea and Samaria on condition that it be de-militarized and that the Palestinian Authority recognize Israel as a Jewish state. PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas has categorically rejected both conditions after having been encouraged by American and European support for the Arab-world demands that Israel surrender all of the land restored to the Jewish state in the Six-Day War in 1967, including the Western Wall and the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.End Quote  http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/132105

In light of this situation, the Temple will not be erected, and we can see the EU and USA are virtually pushing Israel to the wall, or into the sea.  EU and USA, for all intents and purposes, are acting unfriendly towards Israel so as to precipitate a war in the ME and once and for all remove the thorny issues; such as Syria, Lebanon, and the Palestinians. Only then the NWO and the AC can have their temple.  The AC wants the Temple erected just as bad as the Jews want it.

Today’s headlines are casting their shadows for the future events...

Syrian group threatens 'force' against Israel
Warns it may move to capture strategic Golan Heights

June 28, 2009

JERUSALEM – A Syrian militant group threatened over the weekend to seize the strategic Golan Heights by force if a peace agreement involving the strategic plateau is not reached with Israel.

Israel's Army Radio reported a group calling itself the Syrian Committee for the Liberation of the Golan on Saturday said it would move to capture the Golan, adding Israel has not shown willingness to achieve peace or to return what they called "Syrian land." http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=102484

Meanwhile we can see that Israel is amassing her troops on the Lebanon border

Israeli Army amasses troops, military hardware along Lebanese border

BEIRUT: The Israeli Army stepped up its presence along the border with Lebanon deploying armored tanks and setting up fortifications as it intensified airspace violations in the area, Lebanon's state-run National News Agency reported Thursday. In "unusual military activity," the Israeli Army deployed Merkava tanks and soldier carriers, among other armored vehicles, along the barb-wired fence separating Shebaa Farms from liberated Lebanese territories, the NNA said. http://www.dailystar.com.lb/article.asp?edition_id=1&categ_id=2&article_id=103494

Through the Operation Cast Lead the Israelis have pretty much smashed up the Hamas and have left them crippled.  From reading the word of God,  in Obadiah and Isaiah 34:5-13 we have a clear picture of the eventual destruction (nuclear) of the Palestinians.   The modern day Palestinians are from the house of Esau/Edomites.

the house of Esau will be a stubble, and they will set it on fire and consume it. There will be no survivors form the house of Esau” Obadiah 18.

Isaiah 34

Edom’s stream will be turned into pitch, her dust into burning sulphur: her land will become a blazing pitch! It will not be quenched night and day; its smoke rise forever. V 9-10

Her nobles will have nothing there to be called a kingdom, all her prince will vanish away.” v 12

When you go through these verses it seems to us that the Peace Treaty will not most likely be signed, and Palestinians will be totally annihilated and Damascus the capital of Syria, which has never been destroyed will be destroyed according to Isaiah 17 and of course we read the destruction of Lebanon in many of the OT books.

If these three countries are taken out, then AC would be in a position to offer the deal: to build the Third Temple to Israel.  I believe this is the Peace Treaty that Daniel talks about in 9:27.  If they wanted they could have reached some agreement with the above mentioned 3 countries long ago, but it was never reached and it never could be hammered out.

After the Peace treaty is signed by AC (head of EU) with US (by this time she will be crippled- maybe some nuclear incident) and Russia, and of course UN as well, then  this will fulfil the prophecy “he shall confirm a covenant with many”  and AC would come as the Head of EU as well as the “messiah” for Israel (proving his lineage to the house of David).

The Russian invasion will take place, only if and when Israel violates the Peace Treaty.  The only likely scenario is when the Mosque “accidently” comes down.

I do see your point about the Temple’s outer court being given to the gentiles in Rev 11; this Third Temple unlike the previous temples would be for all nations.  Solomon did say that when he built the First Temple that other nations too can come and worship and this practise was allowed in the Temple as long as the gentiles were in the outer court.  I guess that is what they are referring to the Third Temple too.  This time  of course, a whole lot of gentiles will troop to Jerusalem to pay their homage to AC.

This is how it looks to me at this point of time, but then again until the prophecy is actually fulfilled we can never be sure.  You could be right about the Mosque being along with the Temple and I could be wrong, or on the other hand,  the temple may be built after bringing down the mosque.  At this time it is speculation only.  All that I know is that we will not be here to see the erecting of the temple or for that matter the destruction of the Mosque  (should it happen).

Even so come Lord Jesus

God bless
