If the above statement sounds
weird to you, it won't when you get done listening to the lesson on Chukat at www.messiahalive.com/torah.htm , where I talk about the
regulations and it's symbolic meaning. There's 3 things G-d said to throw
into the Red Heifer while it is burning:
(1) Cedar Wood
(2) Hyssop
(3) וּשְׁנִי
תוֹלָעַת
But why would God tell us to ADD stuff to
something that is only going to be burned up anyway? Could this possibly
have some sort of practical value? Why do this if you're only going to
burn it? Why did He command that cedar wood be used and not something
else? Why hyssop and not something else? What do these two things
have in common? And what is "שְׁנִי
תוֹלָעַת"? I've left the last one untranslated, and I talk this
week about more than one thing this could be - don't trust your
translators!!!
And why do the regulations on the red heifer
appear in the middle of two stories instead of with OTHER
regulations? There WAS a reason for that, and I discuss what that
reason is. It's because of how the symbolic meaning of the ashes to the
red heifer fits into the symbolism of the journey Israel went on, and that is
another topic I get into more of in this week's lesson. This week's lesson
ends the 3rd major chapter of the 42 Journey Pattern, the Temptation that
surrounds us. And it starts the 4th major lesson in the 42 Journey
Pattern. In this week's Torah portion I get into what several of
these encampments symbolize. It's a fascinating study you won't want to
miss so be sure to click on www.messiahalive.com/torah.htm and
listen in today.
Shalom, Joe
