"1967 Six Day War"

I stumbled on something today.

In 1731  Johann Sebastian Bach, published a song called " Sleepers Awake". It was inspired by the story  Jesus told and recorded in Matthew's gospel of the "Ten Virgins".

On June 8, 1967, right in the middle of the " Six Day War", what was to become the most played song on British radio, in all history,  was released in the US.

As a teenager , I remember well , the song, and the SIX DAY WAR

The song , recorded by the British group " Procol Harum " , was " Whiter Shade of Pale". It's haunting melody is taken from the 1731 Bach piece, " Sleepers Awake". It is still played on "Oldies" stations around the world.

42 years later, most of the the church is STILL .............snoozing !!!

Incidentally, on November 29, 1947, the UN Resolution #181 was issued.

It essentially set forth the tenants for the creation of the Jewish State, ( and war )which followed in 1948.

If you do a little math,  we are almost to the 62nd anniversary of that date.

Daniel 9:25   62 weeks, and 7 weeks...................could we be there ??

blessings DOVES.   joe chappell
