I think the reason Obama is hurrying is because the dems have control of both the white house and the Congress. 

If you recall the only time that happened before was when Clinton first won back in 1992.  Then 2 years later Newt Gingrich took Congress back for the GOP with the Contract for America.  After that, Clinton was a lame duck president.  So Obama knows there are a lot people dissatisfied with him, and expects there will be another backlash in 2 years putting Congress back in control by the opposite party (the GOP).  So anything he wants to get done......he better do it in the first 2 years of office.  I think that is what the rush is about.  If you are going to shred the US Constitution, you better do it now or hold your peace.
