I would like to strongly encourage all Bible scholars to examine the recent article which Cindy Busch posted, about a possible later figuring for Pentecost (namely, the FOURTH JEWISH MONTH, Tammuz; our August 1, this year.)

 

(Not that I agree or understand everything in the article.)

 

In my examination of it, a LOT of it makes biblical sense (but I'm no scholar!):

 

1) Exodus 19:1 says they were in the third month when they camped at the base of the mount. Add several days, including Moses' ascent (40 days) and when he comes down with the law, Aaron proclaims a feast unto the Lord... It seems to be later than the commonly understood "50 days" (if Moses is the type, and I believe he is.) 

 

2) Acts 20-21 shows Paul's journey to get to Pentecost. He arrives one week early. I haven't counted it out... I do hope someone will. Could there have been this "seven complete sabbaths (weeks) AND 50 days"?

 

3) Then there's the mention of "new wine" in Acts 2 (Peter), as well as the amount of time it takes to harvest wheat being longer than 50 days. (I'm not into gardening... :)  )

 

4) I'm beginning to see the difference in my usual understanding of "moons" and "sabbaths" and how they relate to this "new Pentecost."

 

Just some of my thoughts... I hope others can add or correct.

 

If this August 1, 2008 Pentecost measures up biblically, here are some "date speculations" for the tribulation period. (Just guessing, and may need much tweaking. Please do so!):

90 days from Aug 1 = Heshvan 1 (Oct 30, 2008)

                                - “flood month”

                                - confirmation of the treaty (?)

                - 2520 days to Day of Atonement, Sept 23, 2015

 

1260 days from Oct 30, 2008 = April 11, 2012

                - 1290 days from Rosh Hashana – Sept 30,2008
