Thought I'd provide the following link that does a pretty good job at explaining what are triangle numbers, and why:

(the short answer is they describe numbers of balls that can be arranged in a triangle)
 
Also, in James Harrison's "The Pattern & The Prophecy - God's Great Code", page 18, he singles out the following "Biblical Triangle Numbers":
 
1 - God (as a Unity)
3 - The Trinity (as a triad)
6 - The Days of Creation
45 - Adam (created in God's triangle image)
153 - Jesus
666 - The antichrist
1081 - God's Holy Spirit
