Rewriting History
 
The study of the Bible, as Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, and many other famous scientists have attested, is a way to discover truth.  Conversely, Christians have been blamed by those that would rewrite history, for suppressing the idea expounded by Copernicus that the earth was not the center of the universe.  How dare he say it orbited the sun.  Yet it has been admitted that the scientists of the day were even more up in arms against Copernicus.  In fact they themselves had  mathematics, albeit complicated, that predicted very well the position of the planets based on the earth being at the center.  While Copernicus's theory, self admittedly, did not do as well of a job.
 
Enter Johannes Kepler.
 
He was a devout Christian born in Germany in 1571 who believed that the Divine Mind only creates in simple, perfect patterns.  Kepler is credited with taking Copernicus's theory, largely dismissed by the scientific community, and through replacing the circular orbits of the planets with elliptical, explained the true orbit of the planets which is accepted today.
 
I say all this, not just to point out that those who believe in the Creator God make the best scientists, but to point out that Kepler also used his scientific mind to calculate the age of the earth as being created in 3993 BC.  That would make the end of 6,000 years in 2008 AD.
