• Great news!  Texas House passes Religious Viewpoints Anti-Discrimination Act  <- Makes me proud!!! - Thanks in part to your good actions, the Texas House of Representatives on Saturday passed the Religious Viewpoints Anti-discrimination Act (HB 3678), giving both schools and students guidelines to prevent violations of religious freedoms in public school.  The bill received an overwhelming majority support by a vote of 107-28, after a successful motion to reconsider.

• 28 die in Moscow Heatwave - Moscow has been sweltering this week in temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius (86 Fahrenheit). Meteorologists said Monday was the hottest May day in the city since records began.

• China warns of full gamut of weather related disasters - China warned on Wednesday of possible floods, landslides and other weather disasters over the next three days with heavy rain, strong winds and hail expected.

• Hail bruises the metro area - A sudden storm dropped heavy rain and up to 4 inches of hail on the metro area, enough to turn streets white.

• Astronomers discover 'bizarre' giant planet - "It's the largest and most massive planet yet found in such a close orbit, and given the proximity of the orbit to the star, we were surprised to find that the orbit is not circular but significantly elliptical,'' Mr McCullough said.

• Awesome Upheaval - Astronomers using NASA's Chandra X-ray Observatory have found evidence for an "awesome upheaval" in a massive cluster of galaxies. A bright arc of ferociously hot gas extending more than two million light years requires one of the most energetic events ever detected.
