"Prayer request"
Hi Doves,
I have had a tumultous week, this week with family.
Tuesday this past week, my sister calls to tell me her husband is in CCU
almost flat line. He has diabetes and now is an amputee with many
complications. During a dialysis treatment he caught a septic infection.
We almost lost him. As of today, he is past this first hurdle only
to face more to come that will put him back in CCU. He is now moved into
a regular room waiting for more treatment.
In the meantime, my twin brother was moving with
his wife from CA to hear, he also having serious medical problems (one
in which we almost lost him 6 mnths ago) and his wife just now in remission
from cancer, driving on Interstate 10 just prior to San Antonio, his truck
breaking down, and then he collapses and is rushed to ER. My older
brother and his wife went to rescue them and he got sick and had to also
go to the same ER with severe stomach pain. He was given morphine
for the pain and still not fully diagnosed. They both were able to
be released from the hospital. They were able to all get here with
the truck, which is still not working. It had to be towed all the
way in.
After a night of rest, my twin brother, his wife, my
nephew and wife, other nephews, niece and her future mother-in-law all
met me down at the hospital. Had taken Wed., Thursday and Friday
off and had spent most of my time at the hospital. They visited my
brother-in-law and we all went for lunch. My twin brother, Mike, collapsed
at lunch and we had to rush him into ER, again. I was going from
CCU to the ER for all the afternoon and into the evening. Mike was
finally able to be released and he and his wife went back to the house.
In the meantime, my other brother is still sick in bed not able to get
out of stomach pain. I got a call from my sister, the wife of my
brother-in-law and she is driving in to go into the ER as she is now ill.
So back and forth from ER some more. She got sick from too much stress.
I didn't get home until 10:30pm that night. I had been at the hospital
since 9:20am.
As of this afternoon, all of them are in a better health
situation, still somewhat fragile. What, mostly I have been praying
for is that all of my family come to salvation in Christ. Each of
them, except my niece's future mother are not Christian. This afternoon
I was able to talk with my older brother who was curious about how I would
study the Bible. I talked with him about Exegesis and what that is,
Textual Criticism, the importance of the background, historical and cultural
of the Scriptures. Everyone of them have over the many years have
all heard the Gospel message on many occasions. I pray that you keep
my family in your prayers. Only my mother, who is with the Lord,
thus far has excepted Christ. I have another brother and his family,
my father and his family also.
Also, Peggy, I have been praying for you, too.
Whoosh, am I tired. My brother-in-law is in Tomball
hospital. Closer, maybe to you, Peggy.
Thank you, Doves.
