 There must be a reason why Daniel describes a statue in chapter 2, and another statue in chapter 3. It is entirely possible that Nebuchadnezzar recreated the statue seen in his dream; but this time, he eliminated the silver, brass, iron and clay. By making the statue entirely of gold, he seemed to be saying that he would not allow God to replace his Babylonian _head of gold_ with any future kingdoms.
