Dear Lydia,
greetings to you in Australia and to all Fivedoves all over the world.
Lydia, sorry for answering so late to your letter at Fivedoves from May 28. It was a big surprise! I was amazed as you “knew” my name. Yes, I’ m normally called “Frieder” by family and friends. I mean, this is really something: there you write a letter to a letter board and someone from the “other end of the world” is “calling your name”... ...Let’s hope and pray that soon and very soon “Someone” is calling all our names... and giving us a new name... Praise the Lord!
Lydia, you mentioned 1952, that was the year when I was born. I live im Pfinztal (in Baden).
By the way I like the name “Lydia”, first it is reminding to “a certain woman named Lydia... whose heart the Lord opened ...” (Acts 16, 14)
....and second I have a old aunt, her name is Lydia, she lives in Bad Urach (im Schwabenländle!). Her husband was a Pietist preacher. Her father (my grandfather) was also a Pietist preacher. However we all like to have love to all the saints.
I think this was also Graf Zinsendorf’s attitude: love to all saints. It’s a great pity that the Church as the body of Christ is so divided. May He; Jesus Himself, soon come and heal His Church! I believe that when He is coming, or shortly before, He will do this great Work of Healing, as He healed that man at the pool, who was made whole on that Sabbath Day after 38 years....(John 5).
Would our Lord present a divided body to His Father? Surely He will heal us and make whole before ...by His amazing Grace.
And you are right, “ if you don’t know Church history, then it is hard to understand a lot of what is going on in the Christian world today ...” (http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/may2007/lydia528.htm) We could learn very much in studying the Church history and the live and the testimonies of those who have been before us...
Remember also: They are “waiting” for us, as
they without us should not be made perfect....” (Hebrew 11, 40).
And of course the whole creation is waiting for us... Romans 8:
“19": For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
"20": For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope,
"21": Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
"22": For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
And that’s the point were the “global warming” comes in.. as you said, there have been cycles.. But today, as right now in this moments at the G8 summit, the speak “wise” words... and it is o.k. to try to do the best we can... however it will be all in vain, we never will be able to repair and heal the nature, the envirement, the same as men never can make a “ecumenism” ... by agendas, by men, by flesh and blood, by our own power it is absolute impossible... We need our Lord and Saviour to come... He will restore and heal by His Grace and Mercy... May He shorten the days of waiting: Yes, Come Lord Jesus.
Maranatha
