Knowing there is power in prayer, and many have given testimonies recently of answered prayers, I have a few requests. My sister-in-law's daughter Melba is going through some trying circumstances. Her husband of 26 years has left her, and the mortgage is now 3 months overdue so she is about to lose her house, which she grew up in. There are four sons, the youngest is 15. The husband has taken up with another woman and refuses to help his wife financially.
    She is not employed and has no money, cannot get a job, and her parents and siblings are unable to help her. She attends church in the Dallas, Texas area, but is not confortable going to them for help, though I advised her mother to tell her that. I also told her to seek assistance from local ministries and civic organizations. Please pray that this matter, even including the restoration of the marriage, be resolved to the glory of God.
    Also please pray for healing for my sister-in-law Gloria, who has many health problems. She is extremely overweight to begin with, has asthma, allergies, high blood pressure, diabetes, and a myriad of problems and is on many medications. Right now she is suffering a terrible flu-like problem, part of which I think is caused by living in her bedroom with 9 small dogs. She is unable to clean the house and her husband rarely has the time to do it. It is a huge mess, but her doctor told me unless she loses about 100 pounds she will eventually die from all the problems she has. She seems to constantly be sick.
    I have offered to help her with the housework, but it is to the point of being overwhelming. One can hardly walk through the house for all the junk that has accumulated there. They really need to order a dumpster and start pitching things out in order to get to the bottom to clean thoroughly. Her husband's sister once cleaned the house on a regular basis as that is her line of business, but she gave up as it is such a tremendous undertaking.
    I have been witnessing to her for several years and she is interested to hear what I have to say about the Lord. In fact she prayed with me to receive Christ a few years ago. But she is reluctant to remove the idols in her home, and I believe there is a huge spiritual battle taking place there. So please remember this family in your prayers, and I will give an update when I can. Thanks in advance.
