It's true, Mary, that YHWH doesn't "rate" sins... to Him, a sin is a sin. But if we continue in a sin that we KNOW is a sin, He will eventually give us over to a reprobate mind. Also, even though He doesn't rate sin, but each sin carries with it different consequences.For instance, if we kept commiting adultery, four people would wind up being hurt... 2 sets of spouses, not just ourself. Not to mention, there are MANY STD's out there. In the case of most homosexuals, they tend to be very promiscuous, and face it, AIDS is primarily spread from one homosexual to another. If we smoke, like I did for 35 years, defiling the temple of the Holy Spirit, we keep ourselves open to the possibility/probability of lung disease, heart disease, emphysema, etc. Does this mean that YHWH doesn't love me? Of course not! I am His child in every sense of the word! But that sin, which I now freely admit was was unrepented sin, carried those possible penalties for my willful refusal to quit!A lot of buddies that I used to hang out with in biker bars were heavy users of cocaine, speed, etc. They have now, 4 years later, almost all lost everything they had... their Harleys, their spouses, their friends, their jobs... everything! And 3 of them are now dead! Even though we will never be sinless as long as we are in our human bodies, we can overcome our fleshly desires with Divine help and prayer! As Paul said in Romans 6:1-6:What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin...Homosexuality, along with other sexual perversions and adultery, are the main reasons why YHWH destroyed Sodom & Gomorrah... they were set forth as an example for future generations (Jude 1:7), and we are promised by Yeshuah Messiah that the last days will be as in the days of Lot (Luke 17:28).
