Syria says its air defenses have opened fire on Israeli air force jets - reports

Earlier Wednesday, June 28, four Israeli F16 fighters made sonic booms over the Syrian presidential summer palace in Latakia. Bashar Assad and his family were in residence. Israel has accused Damascus-sponsored Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal of orchestrating Hamas attacks and hostage-taking against Israel and hold the Syrian government responsible for harboring the radical terrorist leader.
