"For Hope"

Dear sister, one cannot understand the pain you are experiencing unless one has been through it. I lost my older sister some thirty years ago, though not through suicide, but a traffic accident. She was a fine Christian wife and mother of three young children, and we have the peace and comfort of knowing that she is with the Lord, but we still miss her. The Gospel of salvation was preached at her funeral, so we will not know until the other side of glory if her death brought anyone to the Lord.

Many say that those who commit suicide have committed the "unpardonable sin" and cannot be in heaven. I do not believe that suicide is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. I will allow the Lord to judge that, as who can know the mind of God? I do know that the Bible says in John 10: 27-29:

"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."

I have heard that the words "no man" can mean that not even they themselves can remove themselves from His hand. I also know that the Father is capable of forgiving ALL sins, and that would include suicide. You do not say if your brother professed Jesus as his Lord and Saviour, but I hope you will let the Lord give you the peace that passes all understanding and comfort you with His love. Do not feel guilty that you could have prevented his death. The enemy of our souls would have you feel that way, so tell him where he can go and let go of the guilt.

We will bear your burden with you and pray for your health, your financial needs, and the right job to come your way, as well as your comfort and that of your family. Know that you are not alone, and that many other brothers and sisters are suffering also in many ways. This is just one more indication that the devil knows his time is short as he seems to be prowling and roaring, stealing, killing and destroying
more than ever. It is difficult to give thanks in ALL things, but we can give thanks that you have shared your burden with us, and that the Lord sent the Comforter to dwell within our hearts. Be richly blessed and encouraged today and in the days to come, as we look forward to the blessed hope of spending eternity with our Saviour, and our loved ones who have gone ahead to be with Him.
