"Thanks Ted!"

The verse you quoted from Ezekiel 22 jumped out at me. I was compelled to read the entire chapter, and was startled by what I read. The following verses speak volumes:

There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof. Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain. And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.  Ezekiel 22:25-28

Seems like the Lord knew exactly who would be leading his people astray, and He clearly says it is a CONSPIRACY! The Lord said it, not me, so argue with Him. He was speaking of His people Israel, but read the entire chapter as He could just as easily have been speaking of His people in the USA. He even describes a melting pot, verses 19-22!
Many scriptures have more than one fulfillment, and I believe this is a good example. I believe the dual fulfillments explain why certain passages can be interpreted in more than one way and both be correct. If people would accept this idea, there might be less arguing over who is right, as one fulfillment was already accomplished in the past, but another fulfillment is waiting to happen, perhaps before our very eyes, as we live in the time of the end. May the Lord bless you and open your eyes to the truth of His Word.
