In
Michael Drosnins first book ( The Bible Code 1997) Drosnin specifically
points out that 2006 is the better match than 2000.
He writes
I checked
every year in the next hundred years. Only two years, 2000 and 2006, were
clearly encoded with "World War." The same two years were
also encoded with "atomic holocaust." They were the only two years in the
next hundred encoded with both "atomic holocaust" and "World War." There
is no way to know whether the code is predicting a war in 2000 or 2006.
The year 2000 is encoded twice, but 2006 is mathematically
the best match. And there is, of course no way to know the danger
is real. But if the Bible code is right, a third World War by the end
of the century is at least possible, and a World War
within the next ten years is a probability we cannot ignore.
He later
writes in his first book
Rips calculated
the odds that all the Apocalyptic dangers stated in the code would match
a single expression of the year
2006, " in 5766," at about one thousand to one. He agreed it was
"remarkable" that this one year among 120 uniquely matched all the dangers
checked -- :the End of Days," "World War", "Atomic Holocaust," "Holocaust
of Israel," and Great Earthquake,"
In Michael
Drosnins 2nd book (The Bible code II The Countdown 2002) he kicks
it up a notch about the year 2006/5766. Its almost like now that
2000 is passed now Drosnin knows 2006 is the main focus.
He writes
"World War,"
and "atomic holocaust," and "End of Days" are all encoded with " in 5766,"
the Hebrew equivalent to 2006. I checked every year in the next hundred,
and only 2006 appeared with all three warnings. It was a clear prediction
that we might face World War III in just five years. I told Dr. Rips,
He calculated the odds on the big computer at Hebrew University. He checked
a hundred thousand random texts to see if all the same dangers might appear
by chance with the same year in any place other than the Bible. "It's
100,000 to 1, " Rips reported. " I looked in 100,000 random texts, and these
words appear together only in the Bible. It could not be by chance. Someone
intentionally put this warning in the Torah." It was beyond any doubt. A
hundred to one is the normal test. A thousand to one is the strictest standard
ever applied by mathematicians. A hundred thousand to one is decisive. According
to the Bible code, we might really face the ultimate danger; a nuclear World
War, in 2006.
Michael Drosnin
actually writes more about 5766 in both his books. He gives warnings
to various world leaders and reflects his amazement by the possibilty
of a World War in 5766.
He writes
in his first book (The Bible Code 1997)
And that
ancient code, which now predicted that World War III could start within
a decade, also had predicted that World War II would start " In 5700"
--- in the modern calendar 1939-1940.

In
such cases the significance of a code is emphasized by the skip-value: the
occurrence at a lower skip is considered as an indication of a higher significance.
The significance of the code about 2006 illustrated in both Drosnin's books
arises out of the fact that the occurrence is at the lowest skip in the
Torah: -11.
