"Arlene on pork"

I enjoyed reading Arlene's article about the eating of meat.
She said that it is now all right to eat pork, because they have a
different way of  processing it.
She also used the Bible passage of Acts 10.
My understanding of this passage is this:
Peter has a vision of a sheet being lowered from heaven.
Inside the sheet were all kinds of unclean animals.
Jews use to call the gentiles, " pigs and dogs", and they considered
the gentiles as unclean, like these animals.
God told him to eat, and Peter said that he has never defiled
himself with  unclean things.
He saw this vision three times.
God told him not to call anything unclean that he
had declared clean.
Right after this vision was over, three gentile men came to
the house looking for Peter.
Up until this time, Peter was only preaching to the Jews.
It would have been unheard of to preach to a gentile.
They were dogs to the Jews.
When Peter saw the gentiles in the house, he understood
the meaning of the vision he had had.
God never changed the dietary laws.
They are still in effect today.
It is like saying that God changed the molecular structure of
Arsenic, and it is O.K. to eat it, because it will not harm
you now.
I do not eat pork. I use to, but not now. It is not a sin to eat
pork, and you won't go to hell because you eat it,
but it still is not good for you. You will just go to heaven a lot sooner
if you eat too much pf it.
( I do eat meat. I am not a vegetarian.)
