Having an interest in amateur astronomy (as do others on here), I had many thoughts regarding FM Riley’s post yesterday on a planetary body making an appearance. Reading Rev 6:12 sounds much as if something large blocks out the view of the sun (as in a solar eclipse). The moon would be red from reflected light, again as in a lunar eclipse. This is a lot simpler to grasp than the sun “going out” so to speak, which I don’t see the possibility of, since people in regular human bodies will live on the earth during the millennium.A large planetary body near the earth would have catastrophic consequences, as any “physicists” in this forum well know from the Gm1m2/r2 calculation regarding gravity effects.
I have always considered the Word of God to be written in a straight forward manner whenever possible as well as only being discernible by the Power of the indwelt Holy Spirit in the redeemed, and the presence of a large planetary body appearing fits very well into this verse of Rev 6:12.
One question for FMR, what relative size of secondary object did you witness? Did you see a glimpse of an arc of a planetary type body over the face of the sun, or did this observation appear bright as well? If it was bright as the sun is, then this would have to be another nuclear furnace, and THAT would have an enormous effect upon our sun if it was in the vicinity. Also, the radiated heat from such an object being near the earth would be enormous, and this fits with the unbearable heat described in Revelation that falls upon the inhabitants. This would also fit judgment by fire, as in the Days of Noah (this time fire, last time water).
I do think you are on to something extremely relevant here, thank you for telling us of this!
