Sharon to meet with Abbas on June 21

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon announced plans Wednesday to hold a summit with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on June 21.

The two leaders last met February 8 in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh, where they called a halt to militant and military violence.

A statement from Sharon's office said the two would meet again on June 21 and that Israeli and Palestinian officials would meet beforehand to discuss the truce and coordinate the Israeli plan to withdraw from the Gaza Strip and part of the northern West Bank.
