"Disengagement"

We anxiously watch, being vigilant and alert, faithful, and obedient, anticipating the rapture to come suddenly in the blink of an eye, like a lightning bolt.  We are ready and we will not miss it.  We wait in a world that gets more filthy, corrupt, and evil by the day, just as is foretold in the Bible.  We long for the Kingdom of Heaven, a place Jesus has prormised we will be because we believe in Him, and because of that, we will live forever.  A place of goodness, love, and the everlasting light of the Lord.  We are going to paradise, the kingdom of Heaven.  Never again to be weighted down with the trials of the world in our earthly lives.

As we wait, there will be a natural disengagement from our earthly home, as we look for the soon departure to our eternal home.  The disengagement will include living in the Lord every moment of every day.  Reading His word.  Loving those around us in such a way as to speak the truth in love to them.  We do these things because we fully realize that in an instant we will be tranformed to our eternal home with the Lord.  We will naturally not be as interested in what we wear, what we eat, or engage in activities that are not in keeping with our relationship with God.

I don't mean to say that we totally disengage, as to drop our commitments to our families, loved ones etcetera.  I mean that in view of our impending sudden removal from the earth, we drop all the things that will have absolutely no meaning once we are gone.

Once we are gone, those who are left that thought they would be taken, yet were deceived will likely take drastic measures.  Those who are left behind after close relatives or friends are taken will feel as if those people died, but were never accounted for.  And, last and worst of all, the unparalleled hell on earth that is to come when evil will be unleashed on the earth, unopposed.

As we disengage, we must shine our light in this dark world. Maybe it will be obvious to others and we can tell them why we are happily disengaging, and how they can also disengage and wait for the most profound event in history to occur.
