"Rice visit: a bad joke?"

Dear friends:

The following is from Jerry Golden in Israel.  From a scriptural standpoint, the actions and policies of President Bush and Condoleeza Rice toward Israel appear inexcusable.  But remember, God is in control and nothing happens in Israel without His permission.  All things are gradually falling into place.  His plan will come to pass.

Rice’s visit was a bad joke.

Okay so now you get my two cents worth and that is about what it’s worth.  The first thing I noticed about Rice’s visit was she made a point of arriving on the Jewish Sabbath and went straight to the Palestinian side of the issue in Ramallah, and never have I ever seen a high representative from the US do that.  But her press conference in Ramallah didn’t go so well for her as most of the questions were from pro-Hamas “Journalist” of course they have to be pro-Hamas journalist if they don’t want to be beaten and put into a Palestinian jail for a while.  Or even worse be called an Israeli collaborator and shot in the town square.

But what I heard from Rice was not a surprise when she said that Abbas would have to keep the Hamas and Islamic Jihad as quiet as he could during the Sharon Disengagement in order to make President Bush happy.  Just think about that for a minute, now all Abbas has to do is to keep Hamas and Islamic Jihad quiet for a while.  We have gone from the need to dismantle the infrastructure of the Terrorist organizations to just keeping them quiet until after the Disengagement of Gaza.  After that of course they will be free to build their terrorist state.  Meaning that it is now necessary according to Bush and Rice to negotiate with Hamas to help in the forced removal of Jews from their homes in Gaza.  So what happened to Bush’s statement of we never negotiate with a terrorist?  Or is it okay as long as only Jews are being killed or forced from their homes and then given to the Terrorist as a reward for killing us.  At the time of this writing Rice is in Jordan and she leaves there for other Islamic countries to make sure they know that Bush and Sharon will do all they can to make the Disengagement happen on time.

While Condoleezza Rice was speaking to Abbas the Palestinian Terrorist launched a raid on an IDF position at the Egypt border killing one IDF soldier and wounding two others.  There were 24 mortar shells, Qassam missiles and anti-tank rockets shot at Gush Katif while Rice’s was in Ramallah.  It is well known that when she left she and her company were not happy with the meetings but for the public consumption they tried to put a happy face on it.

But I have a feeling the Disengagement will not happen, and when it is time all hell is going to break loose and the IDF will back up and decide that they cannot get violent with over 9,000 Jews because they do not want to lose their homes and livelihood.  The clock is ticking and what we are about to witness is something beyond belief for most of us here in Israel, the possibility of Jews killing Jews is a real possibility and one no Jew wants to even consider.  But we have a Prime Minister who is more interested in pleasing George W. Bush than serving the Jewish people he was once thought to represent.

The majority of the residences of Gush Katif still do not believe this will ever happen, many are living in total denial that such a thing could happen in Israel, or at least in the Israel they love so much.  We here in Israel are showing our support by flying orange ribbons on our cars and homes and every day I notice more and more are flying the orange.  The public support that was always falsely being reported by the media is now known to be a lie, for the average Israeli I know is against the Disengagement and now Sharon knows that his lie of the majority being behind him is exposed.

The Knesset is about to go on summer vacation and that is the only thing saving Sharon because the MK’s know they have to go to new elections as soon as possible, that Sharon is finished and will go down as the worse Prime Minister Israel has ever had.  What is sad is that Sharon has been able to force this whole thing into law while the likes of Netanyahu and others Likud MK’s who could have stopped him didn’t even try, but now want to act like they did.  Israelis are beginning to understand that the 13 so-called Knesset Likud Rebels headed up by Uzi Landau are in fact, heroes.
